bye bye, Lunch Paper
Saturday night was Lunch Paper’s last night. I feel so lucky to have found such a great bar with such great people, even though I only got to enjoy it for about a year or so. Anyhow, the bar was hoppin’ this weekend and I had an amazing time! Here are a few pics:

If we’re not flickr friends, add me so you can view everything. :D

Do you like Guitar Hero? I sure do. There’s a tournament coming up on October 17 at Tasty World here in Athens (sponsored by Red Octane themselves), if you’re interested. Check out the Shannon’s Battle Royale site for more information.

last chance

Tonight, the night you’ve been waiting for…? Well, not really, but tonight is the very last night that Lunch Paper, my very favorite bar, will be open. We’re all a little sad to see it go, but we’re going to go out and represent. If you have a chance, stop by and say farewell!

by the way

to those of you who have said to me recently “you should blog more often!” I am not a blogger. I’ve tried, seriously, and it just doesn’t come that naturally to me. I rarely even enjoy reading other people’s blogs, to be honest. But I am still interested in keeping up with my webspace… I’m still interested in design, but I just really don’t have time (that’s a lie) for it. Really, I don’t have the patience (es verdad!) or the creativity. Every once and a blue moon something makes me giggle so hard that I just have to post it. I suppose this short movie will suffice for now:

Those shoes are mine, bitch.

The email I sent out yesterday to the staff list serve at work:

Okay, so, I’ve always heard stories about this happening at the work place… but I never expected it to happen to me. Honestly, I’ve always wondered how it could possibly even be true! People stealing other people’s lunches from the community fridge? That doesn’t really happen, right? WRONG! All those stories were true!

Yesterday I brought a Healthy Choice meal to eat for lunch. I wasn’t that excited about eating it, to be honest. I mean, come on, it’s just a healthy choice frozen dinner. No one actually likes those; they’re just a healthy, quick alternative to having a real lunch. Then, when I realized we had box lunches for employers and LeAnn offered me a chicken salad sandwich (Thanks, LeAnn!) I almost cried with joy knowing my frozen lunch would be put off for one more day. I happily shoved it into the freezer thinking I’d just pick up tomorrow where I left off. I never realized I’d be personally vandalized and without lunch (theoretically) come Wednesday.

Imagine my surprise when this morning I went to fill up with ice and my delicious, frozen piece of processed (but healthy) heaven was missing from the “safe space” in the executive lounge! I am so mad; but mad in the way that makes people say “It’s the principal of the matter!” I don’t really care all that much that my frozen meal is gone, but seriously, why would someone take it?

If you’re hungry, let me know. I’ll buy you a sandwich next time. Roly Poly’s delivers, and they’re super fast, too! Just don’t steal other people’s lunches. That’s lame.

Love,
Holly M.
