Okay

I know that was dumb, but I really wanted to know.
I guess if I just made more relevant posts more often I wouldn’t have had to do that. :D

I have tomorrow off, and I’m really glad. Patrick is off too. Maybe we can do something fun, or maybe we can just clean the dirty ass apartment. That might be the best idea. There was a preview for an episode of Ricky Lake where the guest were like “I just love to be messy!” Their houses were disgusting, and I just don’t see how people can live like that. I had an internet friend once, and I saw pictures of her house. Wow, it was just really bad, and you never picture people living in such dirty places, but they do! Boy do they. I’m going to go on Ricky Lake and be one of the anal house keepers. But really, I’m on neither end of the spectrum. I only mop once a month. :/ That’s certainly not anal.

I want to rent Amelie. It looks really good, and everything I hear about it seems to confirm that. So yeah, maybe I will rent that tomorrow.

My life seems too busy to rent movies though. I never have enough time to do everything I want to do. I bought like 20 lbs. of sculpting clay at the beginning of this summer, and I’ve yet to build anything. I almost sat down to start last week, but when I thought of waxpapering the table and taping everything down so I don’t make a horrible mess, I just thought it was too much effort. So then I didn’t. I haven’t even had time to do laundry since last week. Thursday was Kenyon’s birthday/graduation/going to Ohio & we’ll all miss you dinner (Which was really fun. And I’m sad he’s moving because I finally made a friend that I can stand to be around for more than 20 minutes at the time). Then Friday we left for Waycross. Came back on Sunday night. Workworkwork, then went to the Weezer show in Atlanta. There is NOTHING today, thank God. My mom is coming up Wednesday. Friday is dinner with friends at Johnny Carino’s, then Saturday, Jenni’s baby shower in Rome. I don’t think we’re going to go to that, though, because My Mom has to get back for school on Monday. Bleh! Monday is bowling (haha! I haven’t been bowling since my bowling class in ‘01!), and Tuesday is Sonic Youth with Patrick and Laura. Which reminds me, I need to email or call Laura because I haven’t seen her since I bought my purse. And that was like a month ago. Waa! No rest for the Holly.

I just got another packet of evaluations to sort out. So I’m going to go do that.

20 is. .

That I had been raised bilengual. Dr. Kaplan’s son, who is just adorable, came to visit and he talked to us in English, and then he talked to his mother in Spanish. I wish I could do that. :/ I know that when Patrick and I have children, they will probably learn a bit of Spansh from him, but still. . . everyone should know two languages.

DAMN!

Is this going to screw up the friends view for all of my friends? Oh, I bet it is.

I think

How many entries do you have to have before they start to archive themselves?

I never know what to use as a subject. . .

Well, last night was Weezer. It really was a great show. It was the first time Patrick and I had been to the Lakewood (now Hi Fi Buys) Amphitheater together. I really like that venue, as far as large venues go, but I really don’t like large venue shows. Anyway, besides being behind a large column and not being able to see the right hand side of the stage (until the two folks beside us moved over, which was actually before the band even started to play), the show was great. Well, that and the fact that the Strokes canceled their entire tour with Weezer. That was a DAMN shame, too, because I was totally looking forward to seeing them. More so than Weezer, even.

When we got there, we were just in time to here the last song by Douche-bag Confessional. I’m glad our timing was so great, because that band just doesn’t interest me in the slightest. There was another band on a side stage that started to play when we got there. They were called Home Town Hero, and it was completely laughable. It’s weird how such mainstream bands like Dashboard Confessional and Home Town Hero can be compared to and in the same genre as Weezer. Because frankly, Weezer is SO much more talented and interesting than them. That’s the only problem with going to shows like that. The bands are mixed and so are the audiences. You end up with music snobs and um. . . the other bunch, sitting right next to one another and sometimes that just causes a big clash. But anyway, the show was fine.

Driving back, however, is always a hassle. Getting out of the stupid amphitheater, we saw some guy puking, and some girl going “ew, I, like, totally have to drive through his puke!!” It was great. But then, the idiots directing traffic made us go the wrong way, then we doubled back and they wouldn’t let us turn, so then we doubled back again and FINALLY got to go the way we wanted to go. :/

Yeah, anyway, I got my new laptop, and I’m very pleased with it. :D It’s a compaq, which everyone seems to frown on, but I really like it, and it’s got really good specs. It’s super speedy, buttttttt, I can’t use it at work because to go on their network and access the internet there, I have to be assigned an IP address. But someday. . . yeah, someday.

Also, I’m very very excited about this Friday. THIS Friday, a movie that I’ve been seeing previews and trailers for since last year, is coming out! Signs, which is a Mel Gibson movie (so, you know he rocked hardcore in Lethal Weapon!), is out, and I’m completely, to the point of nerdism, stoked about seeing it. It just seems so creepy and interesting. And plus, who DOESN’T love a movie about crop circles?

Okay, I’m going to do some work now. Bye!

i can’t believe it’s only 3:00.

Work is really hard. Well, no. Work is TOO easy, which makes it hard to stand sitting here all day. 8:00 – 4:00 if I work through lunch, but wow. That just makes me hungry and cranky. I guess the only good part is that I get to play games and chit chat with folks on AIM all day.

I haven’t posted in a few days. Maybe more than a few days. I can’t remember what the last post was and I don’t feel like looking. Anyway, last monday was the Guided by Voices show. It was better than the last one, but Echo Lounge is small and it’s always SUPER crowded. The opening band, SuperDrag, was really good. At least I thought so. Patrick thinks they’re boring and trite, I guess, but he really likes their one popular song “who sucked out the feeling,” and he said they played it too fast. Which I agree with, but. . . I still liked them.

I took 0 pictures and feel bad about it, but I’m sure none of you look at my photos anyway.

My kitten, Mabel, was spayed yesterday. So she’s at home in her kenel waiting for me to come home. I’m kind of anxious to see her. I hope she’s doing okay at home all by her self.

Anyway, bye.

i have become. . .

A show snob. It’s official. Patrick is rubbing off on me and I’ve become a complete show snob. Just Monday we drove to Atlanta to see Jets to Brazil, a band I like (at least in my car) but the show was just. . . boring. That’s the only word I can think to describe it. Boring and annoying. You know, usually people who pay for shows and drive an hour to see them will at least stay until it’s finished, boring or not. . . but no, I really don’t have the patience for that. If a band can’t impress me live, then they’re just not a good band. Well, save for Guided by Voices, but I think I was annoyed with that show for other reasons. And I’ll be giving them a second chance next Tuesday. . . But anyway, why didn’t I like Jets live?

1. WHY does the lead singer sing in that stupid pseudo British accent?? It’s not real and we all know it.
2. No pizaz! If you’re putting on a show, wear a nice shirt and do a dance or something. Don’t just cling to your mike.
3. LOOOOONG songs. . . and I don’t usually mind a long song. If it’s Zeppelin or Sonic Youth, long songs are fine, but if you keep singing about stars and girls that don’t love you anymore, well, it’s just gay.
4. Some stupid girls kept doing that “ohhwa oohhwa!” disco noise. That’s really stupid and no one thinks you’re cute or funny.
5. Many more reasons that are too stupid to mention.

But at least I got to see Lucia. The only thing is, she really loved JTB. :/ And that makes me sad. I thought she was neater than that.

Anyway, My mom is coming up today. I hope she gets here early because then we can go buy my sofa today rather than waiting till Friday. I NEED a sofa. The futon is nasty and uncomfortable. So yeah, I’m getting a new sofa. I think we’re going to go out for Italian tonight, too, but I dunno. Patrick is working extra hours at the hospital and I dunno if he’ll be in the mood. Plus, I think maybe he wanted to go on Friday. But I don’t really know why. :/ I wish my life weren’t so boring that I type what I’m going to do later on in the evening with my Mom and husband on the internet. Especially when it’s just what we’re going to eat for dinner.

erk. . i need koolaid.
